Report: Enzo Maresca wants to beat Tottenham to £60m signing right after he joins Chelsea

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head-to-head to sign one hugely talented Premier League player this summer.

The Blues are all set to welcome Enzo Maresca as their new manager. The Italian is expected to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge, and that announcement is imminent.

Once Maresca is in, he will surely want new signings, and Chelsea are ready to battle with their bitter rivals Tottenham for one exciting player’s signature when the window opens in June.

Tottenham and Chelsea to go head-to-head to sign Eberechi Eze

Eberechi Eze is all set to be a wanted man after another very impressive season at Crystal Palace.

The Englishman scored 11 goals and provided six assists for the Eagles in all competitions in the 2023/24 season, and he has impressed many clubs.

Both Chelsea and Tottenham are expected to be on the market for a new attacker this summer, and Eze is said to be high up on their list of targets.

That’s according to GiveMeSport, who have claimed that Enzo Maresca and Ange Postecoglou are keen to beat each other for Eze’s signature this summer.

However, Palace will not make it easy for either club.

The report claims that the Eagles are keen to retain the services of their star attacker for the upcoming campaign. They don’t want to lose him!

So, Palace have made it clear that they want at least £60 million for Eze from Tottenham, Chelsea or any other club interested in him.

Eze signed a new contract at Selhurst Park in November 2023 and his deal doesn’t run out till the summer of 2027. That puts Palace in a really strong position in potential negotiations.

Chelsea and Tottenham could annoy Arsenal by signing Eze

Eze has become a superstar for Crystal Palace.

The Englishman is just a joy to watch. The way he just glides past people like they aren’t even there is as good as anyone else in the Premier League.

Tottenham and Chelsea are both right to target Eze, and if either of them manages to sign him, they could make Arsenal regret one of their old decisions.

Many people may not know that Eze was actually once a part of Arsenal‘s youth setup. He was released by the Gunners when he was a teenager.

If Eze moves to one of Arsenal’s big London rivals and becomes a star there, we’re sure people at the Emirates will be a bit annoyed as he could’ve easily been their player now.
