Benjamin Cremaschi has shared what it’s really like playing alongside Lionel Mess as his teammate for Inter Miami.
It’s almost coming up to a year since the Argentine superstar swapped PSG for the Herons, with Messi transforming Inter Miami into one of the most recognized clubs in the world and raising MLS’s reputation more than any player in history.
Messi’s arrival has also helped bring the best out of a number of Inter Miami players, namely Cremaschi, who alongside the 36-year-old forward has developed into one of the most exciting talents in MLS and a full US international.
And the teenager has now shared what it’s like to play alongside Messi.
Cremaschi admits playing with Messi has improved his game
Speaking on Morning Footy, the 19-year-old midfielder revealed that playing with Messi has helped his game improve at Inter Miami, with Cremaschi admitting that the Argentine’s presence is ‘big’.
With two goals already this season and a staple in Inter Miami’s starting XI, Cremaschi has arguably benefitted the most from Messi’s blockbuster move to Florida last summer.
And given how young Cremaschi is, this is only the start for the teenager, who could win a move to Europe on the back of his development playing alongside Messi at Inter Miami.
Cremaschi said on Messi: “His presence is big, so you’re always trying to focus on what you’re doing and what you can do to help him, and it helps me a lot because I play close to him and I need to know his position, and his presence just gives me focus and motivates me a lot.”
Cremaschi could be one of Inter Miami’s best players come the end of the year
Cremaschi’s development has been nothing short of incredible in the last 12 months, even with the midfielder suffering from a sports hernia that kept the youngster out at the start of the season.
And if the USA international can keep up at his current pace, there’s a real chance that Cremaschi could become one of Inter Miami’s best players heading into the playoffs.
Indeed, the teenager has the potential to play for a top European side at his current development pace, and Cremaschi will want to end the year on a high by playing a key role in Inter Miami’s MLS Cup push.
