Household electricity prices to rise by up to 80%

Reportedly, a government meeting on May 30 will discuss a draft proposal that would increase the rate from UAH 2.64 ($0.07) to UAH 4.8 ($0.12) per kWh for consumers who use over 100 kWh. Meanwhile, the rates for other consumers will remain unchanged.

The source noted that while this is the current draft, the final decision may differ.

On May 24, Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko stated that the government would revise electricity rates for household consumers by the end of May.

As of June 1, 2023, the government had set a unified electricity rate for households at UAH 2.64/kWh. Previously, the rate was UAH 1.44/kWh for consumption up to 250 kWh per month.
