Tottenham eyeing more after landing Timo Werner on loan

Postecoglou has voiced his desires ahead of the summer transfer window in a plead to Daniel Levy to bolster his options for the new season.

New forwards were always going to be needed having lost Harry Kane last summer to Bayern Munich and with the likes of Bryan Gil set to leave over the coming weeks.

It could be seen over the final weeks of the season that Heung-min Son was running on fumes having taken the lion’s share of responsibility over the campaign in trying to replace the goals left behind by Kane.

Injuries to Richarlison did not help the matter, but have highlighted the club’s need to strengthen their options in attack.

After Werner’s return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was announced, Gold took to X to share his understanding one what else Postecoglou is aiming for this summer.

More attackers are wanted and needed at Spurs with the deal for Werner potentially only reflecting well on Levy if more quality additions are to follow.

What is also interesting is that the option to sign Werner next summer is now almost half of what Spurs would have had to pay this summer.

What else do Tottenham need this summer?

A new number nine could be crucial to providing Tottenham with a good summer transfer window following Richarlison’s injury issues.

However, there are also a number of other areas which are needing to be addressed with a new midfielder believed to be on the radar.

The performances shown from Yves Bissouma for large portions of the season simply were not good enough and were that of a player who could well find themselves out of the starting XI for next season.

Postecoglou has also spoken about the need to add to the defence this summer having already signed Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin earlier in the season.

Considering the window has not even opened yet, this could mark the start of a promising summer for Spurs.
