‘There is interest’: Journalist suggests Chelsea could sign £60m player right at the end of the transfer window

Chelsea will be active again this summer.

The Blues will be busy once again this summer as they look to improve their squad under yet another new manager.

One player the Blues have been keen on for a little while is Michael Olise.

Chelsea, of course, almost signed Olise last summer before signing a new contract with Crystal Palace.

According to Sami Mokbel, speaking on The Byline, Chelsea are still interested in Olise, claiming that the Blues could do a deal for the £60m man towards the end of the transfer window once they’ve addressed some other problems.

Chelsea could sign Olise at the end of the summer

Mokbel shared what he’s heard on Olise and a potential move to Chelsea.

“I think you have a shot. But I checked my end about 10 days ago and there has been nothing concrete from anyone in the Premier League yet,’ Mokbel said.

“Having spoken to my connections in south London, but I understand there is interest in Michael Olise. Chelsea, it’s no secret, that interest is ongoing, and it’s a long-term target.

“I think Chelsea have other priorities and they need those done and completed first.

“I think if there is an opportunity and the club are confident there is enough money left and that wouldn’t see them overstep the mark with PSR and they think there’s an opportunity to get Olise over the line with this £60m release clause, it’s complicated, a complex one, if they think they could get that deal done, maybe towards the end of the window, I’m sure that’s one they would definitely consider.”

Olise might get snapped up

Mokbel says that Chelsea could wait until the end of the summer to sign Olise, but the reality is that the Crystal Palace star could be snapped up by then.

With a £60m release clause in his contract, top clubs will surely be sniffing around Olise from day one of the transfer window, and if Chelsea don’t act promptly, they could be beaten to the punch.

Chelsea are keen on Olise, but if they want to sign him, they may want to act quickly.
