Report: Where Chelsea’s owners believe their current squad should finish in the Premier League next season

It has been reported where Chelsea’s current ownership believe their squad should be finishing in the Premier League next season.

The Blues are preparing to go into a new era at Stamford Bridge with a new manager again after the removal of Mauricio Pochettino from his role.

The Argentine led the Blues to a top six finish, and oversaw some superb individual campaigns from some of the younger players at the club.

This was perhaps shown by the fact that Cole Palmer, Malo Gusto and Nicolas Jackson were all named in a recent young team of the season.

However, this combined with off-the-field reasons were not enough for him to keep his job, and he is set to be replaced by Enzo Maresca.

The Leicester City boss faces an uphill task already based on his experience in the game, or lack thereof.

While this to some may lower the expectations of some when it comes to the finish the Blues should achieve at the end of the upcoming season, this does not seem to be the case for the owners.

Chelsea owners believe they should finish top four

According to the Evening Standard, Todd Boehly and co still hold the belief that the squad they already have at Stamford Bridge is good enough to finish in the top four.

This is of course without any potential signings that come in, with it already being reported that the hierarchy are prepared to back the new boss in the upcoming window.

It was claimed that there could be as many as five new signings coming into Stamford Bridge before the window closes, although Maresca has his plans in place for players already at the club.

One of those is Enzo Fernandez, who many around the club are still waiting to see the best from following his exploits at the World Cup in 2022.
