Ross McNeil wants to bring the feelgood factor back to Wisbech Town next season after being named as the club's new assistant manager.
McNeil returns for a second spell with the Fenmen having worked with previous manager Gary Setchell between 2008 and 2010.
Speaking about his appointment with the United Counties League Premier Division North side, McNeil said: "It's a fantastic opportunity for me at a club I've had a close affinity with over the years.
"I've been there before with Gary and got on well with everyone behind the scenes. There are still some good people at the club and it's a great challenge for me to join Pedro (Alex Street) and try to turn the ship in the right direction.
"It's about getting people passionate and committed to playing for Wisbech Town and that's all we want.
"We want people to be proud to play for the club. It's about meeting our short-term targets, pushing on and bringing back the feel-good factor to the club.
"The club has had some unbelievable success over the years and we've got to set our expectations high. There is also something about Wisbech Town Football Club that makes you want to give that extra 10 per cent.
"They've reached the FA Cup first round proper and enjoyed good runs in the FA Vase, that's the potential the club has. The only way to bring that into the new chapter is by working hard and sticking together.
"You need everyone in the trenches and rowing in the same direction, that's the only way it is going to work.".
In more recent times, McNeil has been part of the coaching staff at Thurlow Nunn Premier Division outfit Heacham Football Club, who won eight successive promotions to reach their current level.
The West Norfolk-based coach was involved with the Magpies for a large part of their success and will be hoping he can help revitalise the Fenmen who finished fourth from bottom of the table last term.
The 42-year-old is looking forward to working alongside Street at Fountain Fresh Park, having been his coach at King's Lynn Town during his playing days at the Walks.
"Alex has done a great job in difficult circumstances at the club," he said.
"He's worked under some experienced managers like Setch and Ian Culverhouse and is so passionate about this football club.
"I can tell you now he is working flat out behind the scenes and it won't be through the want of trying."
