TV star left with 'bottom for stomach' after two-hour tummy tuck goes wrong

A Botched Bariatrics star was left with a “b*** crack for a stomach” after a tummy tuck went wrong. Dr. Caplin was urged to assist the patient months after the initial surgery, which only took two hours.

When Crystal woke up from tummy tuck surgery, she was expecting to see the results she’d paid a lot of money for. But unfortunately, the TLC star wasn’t happy with her result for even one minute.

Crystal’s story on Botched Bariatrics

Crystal revealed her fiance has not seen her naked for six months because she “feels disfigured.” She describes her tummy tuck as “a butt on her stomach” and says it’s “time for her to be fixed”.

Dr Courtney Caplin assisted Crystal in fixing her botched, scarred surgery, which she felt looked like a “b*** crack” on her tummy. At the age of 19, she had discovered she had diabetes, and put on weight.

The now 52-year-old went from 125 to 250 pounds and tried everything to drop the lbs – exercise and fasting – but nothing worked. Then, she underwent a gastric bypass in 2007, and shed 150 lbs.

She got a tummy tuck for 50th

Crystal’s wedding was postponed due to a failed belly tuck procedure. She characterized herself as “botched and butchered” and was eager to get the surgery fixed before the big day.

For her 50th birthday, she intended to have a stomach tuck. Crystal was going to get at least 10 pounds of skin removed. With this much extra skin, a belly tuck should last at least 5 hours – but it took two.

Dr. Caplin, who fixed the botched surgery, suspects her surgeon had only removed a part of the skin that needed to be removed, and advised patients to wear a compressive garment for two weeks after a tuck.

Where Crystal is after filming

Just before Crystal’s wedding to her fiance, she was able to have her tummy cracks removed. Dr. Caplin went all the way around to repair her belly tuck, the dog ears, and the buttock lift in the rear.

She then performed an incision in the midline to remove the superfluous skin, which Crystal referred to as her second butt crack, removing as much tissue as possible to make it tight while not limiting blood flow.
