Vandy 4-star safety commit Carson Lawrence keen on Michigan offer, sets four official visits

Chattanooga (Tenn.) McCallie School four-star safety Carson Lawrence is approaching one year of being committed to Vanderbilt. He pledged last June and since seen his stock rise as he gears up for his senior season.

His offer sheet now features 15 Power Four programs after Michigan jumped in the mix on Thursday. Head coach Sherrone Moore, secondary coach LaMar Morgan and the Wolverines immediately piqued the interest of the 6-foot-2 defensive back.

“I have interest interest in them and will probably visit this summer,” Lawrence told On3 of U-M. “I know they win and produce NFL guys.”

While an official visit to Ann Arbor could be in the cards, Lawrence has already locked in four officials for the upcoming four weekends. It begins with a trip to West Virginia this weekend to see the Mountaineers. He’ll then check out Ole Miss (June 7), head back to Vanderbilt (June 14) and round things out with Virginia Tech (June 21).

Currently one of four commits for Clark Lea in the 2025 class, Lawrence is the lone blue-chipper in the mix for the Commodores and one of three in-state pledges. While he’s set to see other campuses next month, he remains locked in with the Dores.

“I’m definitely still committed and the main thing that keeps me committed is the chance to go in there and contribute early,” Lawrence said.

Lawrence is the No. 289 overall prospect and No. 27 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 7 player in Tennessee.

On3 ranks Lawrence higher than other recruiting services. He checks in at No. 163 overall, No. 18 at his position and No. 3 in the Volunteer State in the updated 2025 On300.
