Report: Tottenham are ready to consider selling their £60m player this summer despite his recent comments

Ange Postecoglou is now ready to green light the sale of a Tottenham Hotspur player who made 31 appearances this season.

By all reports, Tottenham are planning a substantial squad overhaul this summer, with plans to build a squad perfectly crafted for Postecoglou’s football.

Despite how impressive Spurs were at times this season, they were often playing square pegs in round holes, best delineated when Destiny Udogie’s injury saw him miss the final weeks of the season.

Tottenham simply couldn’t replace the youngster, and the same could be said for Pedro Porro on the right.

That being said, Spurs can’t simply add four, five or even six players without reducing the overall size of their squad, one that was big enough to play in Europe last season.

Postecoglou was light on the ground during different periods, but that was because so many were out on loan, players like Djed Spence – who Tottenham could now struggle to sell.

And as well as the possibility of several of those players being moved on, some first team regulars could be axed too.

Ange Postecoglou prepared to sell Richarlison despite Brazilian rejecting ‘fake news’

Of the players Spurs could sell, Richarlison is the headliner.

The Brazilian, who Tottenham paid Everton £60m for in 2022, recently rubbished reports that he could leave – only for The Standard to now argue otherwise.

Spurs will consider bids for Richarlison according to the report, despite his insistence that he’s not leaving England.

The 12-goal striker has attracted interest from multiple Saudi Arabian clubs, who would be able to match the price Tottenham originally paid.

Given Richarlison isn’t necessarily Postecoglou’s ideal wideman or centre-forward, it’s understandable that the club would be willing to cash in.

Timo Werner’s renewed loan deal seems significant, a move that means there’s only going to be a limited amount of space for new forward signings, unless a player like Richarlison leaves.

The report also confirms that Bryan Gil is not part of Postecoglou’s plans, and Manor Solomon would be sold for the right price.

Of course, that’s just looking at Tottenham’s forward line, with the rest of the squad expected to experience a similar reshuffle.

Transfer talk aside, Gary Neville was shocked by something Wayne Rooney just said about former Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
