It looks like Chris Hampton has Oregon on the short list for one of the top safeties in the country.
Gonzaga (Md.) safety Kainoa Winston has named his final four with On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Making the cut is Oregon, North Carolina, Penn State and Michigan.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder is the No. 96 ranked player in the On3 Industry Rankings. He is the No. 10 ranked safety nationally.
Penn State currently leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine at 35%.
Winston has a busy June with official visits to each of those four programs. He will be at Michigan first on May 31. Next will be Penn State on June 7 followed by Oregon on June 14. North Carolina will get the last visit on June 21.
The four-star previously visited Oregon in March. He gave the visit high marks as one might expect.
“It was a great visit,” Winston told ScoopDuck. “They showed me around all the football facilities and they even showed me around Hayward Field which was very cool. I went there with my father and we both were amazed by the facilities there and we both liked all the conversations we had with the coaches.”
