Leny Yoro knows Liverpool want him but Real Madrid question lingers

According to a report from the Daily Mail, exciting youngster Yoro is very much a player who knows the big clubs want him.

It’s claimed the Lille teenager is aware of Liverpool and PSG both being keen on him.

However, there is also the nagging problem of Real Madrid and it’s suggested that the Spanish club are telling Yoro to wait it out while they can do the deal to sign him.

It’s reported that Lille are hoping to fetch around £50m for Yoro but Madrid think they could get him for as little as £30m, given his apparent desire to join them.

It’s been previously reported that Yoro knows he is on his way this summer and has even said goodbye to teammates in training.

Liverpool will be hoping for William Saliba mark two with Leny Yoro

While it looks a hard deal to do given Real Madrid and PSG in the mix here, there’s no doubt Leny Yoro could be a big player for Liverpool for years.

Rio Ferdinand has already drawn comparisons between Yoro, himself Arsenal defender William Saliba.

“There are similarities in the way Van Dijk plays. Saliba now as well the way he plays there’s the way they’re kind of just kind of calmness under pressure. Don’t ever really seem fazed. They’re good at covering, yeah so some similar traits.

“There’s a young boy at Lille, Leny Yoro He’s going to be one of the best centre backs about as well. I’ve seen similar traits. He’s going to be a top defender,” Ferdinand wrote,” Ferdinand has said.

Clearly, there is a long way for Yoro to go before he reaches the heights of a Ferdinand or Saliba.

But at just 18 and already so highly courted, it’s easy to see why Liverpool want to get this one done.
