'Proper fee': Arsenal have told club they want to sign 'fantastic' player and groundwork has started - insider

Jorrel Hato is a player Arsenal are said to be very keen on.

The Dutch defender is said to be one of the Gunners’ top targets heading into the summer transfer window, and he could be a new arrival at the Emirates this summer.

Arsenal are taking an interesting approach to getting this transfer done.

Indeed, according to Arsenal insider, Team News and Ticks, speaking on Inside Arsenal, the Gunners are approaching this deal in a unique way.

The reporter states that Arsenal are being ultra-respectful to Ajax in their pursuit of Hato, claiming that the Gunners have told Ajax they want to make sure they get a proper fee for the teenager.

Arsenal being respectful in Jorrel Hato approach

The insider shared what he knows about Hato and Arsenal.

“We didn’t try to convince him to sign a new contract. We told Ajax then that we will still be interested if he signs a new contract, we’d like you to get a proper fee for the player,” He said.

“It’s been friendly throughout, most of the time in situations like this, clubs would be getting into Hato or his agents’ ear saying don’t sign a new contract and we will pay you more and you will make up for it in a signing bonus.

“That’s usually how things go down, but based on what I’ve been told it hasn’t gone down like that at all and the relationship could really help us.”

Arsenal and Ajax alliance

Ajax and Arsenal are forming a small alliance it would appear.

Jurrien Timber made a move to the Emirates last summer, and now, Hato could follow in his footsteps.

Arsenal appear to be happy to respect Ajax in these sorts of negotiations, and this could bode well in years to come as the Amsterdam outfit continue to produce elite talents.

Don’t be shocked if this isn’t the last deal we see Arsenal and Ajax do in the coming years.
