‘Crazy’: Micah Richards claims Man City have done something ‘astonishing’ this season

Micah Richards has said that Manchester City have done something very special this season.

After winning the Treble last season, the Blues set out to do the same again this time around.

However, the Blues were knocked out of the Champions League in the quarter-final stage by Real Madrid and lost to Manchester United in the FA Cup final.

In between those two disappointments, the Manchester club beat Arsenal to the Premier League title once again to lift their sixth title in seven years.

Now that the season has come to an end for the Citizens, one of their former players has shared his verdict on the club’s latest campaign.

Speaking in a recent edition of The Rest Is Football, Richards had this to say about City’s season and how they became the first side to win four Premier League titles in a row.

He said: “Yeah, it’s crazy, isn’t it? Go out on pens to Real Madrid, and then get to the final against Man United.

“But to win four in a row in the league, never been done before, absolutely incredible.

“Pep again, I think Man City, on the eye, and I’ve said a couple of times that I don’t think they’ve been at their best in terms of free-flowing football.

“Teams have set up a little bit differently against them, maybe, but to win four in a row, yeah, it’s just astonishing.”

City’s showed why they’re the best again

Across their 38 league games, the Blues won 28, drew seven and lost three, leaving them with 91 points in total, two more than the Gunners and two more than they picked up last season on their Treble-winning campaign.

In addition to that, Pep Guardiola’s side scored more goals (96) than any other side in the division.

Having made history once again in the Premier League, it’s easy to see why Richards has been so impressed by City’s latest season, despite their disappointments in the FA Cup and Champions League.
