After his “baby girl” was dumped by her boyfriend in the driveway, a dad broke the internet with perhaps the sweetest message you will read this year.
Despite the glowing advice from the likes of Matthew Hussey, breakups are still one of the most painful parts of the human experience. No amount of ice cream, crying, or rage-screaming seems to work, and that’s to say nothing of the abysmal feeling of going on first dates all over again. While this article won’t instantly solve your heartbreak, it will illustrate how a parent’s kind words are more effective than even the yummiest pint of Ben and Jerry’s.

Earlier this week, Fallon Thompson (@fallonthompsxn) posted a video that featured an image of herself with visibly red eyes and flushed cheeks. Her boyfriend had just broken up with her outside, all in full view of her father.
Devastated by seeing his daughter so upset, the unnamed father sent her a lengthy message which has since amassed over 18.2 million views and 3.3 million likes. Fallon now has several thousand applications for a “stepmom” to look for.
“Hey, baby girl… here is some perspective from your old man… I have had lots of relationships… from one night stands, to flings, to friends w/ benefits, to girlfriends, to live-in girlfriends, and then I met your mom,” he wrote. “I can say for certainty that when I met her, it was instantly different. I can also say that I knew it was different because I went through those other experiences.”
The dad continued to explain that her recent heartbreak is essential on her dating journey. He said she was going to meet that special person and would not “end up alone” despite her current emotional state.
He further added: “When someone lets you know that you are not for them, deal with the pain and hurt with the knowledge that this person just gave you back the most valuable thing in the world – your time.
“Be grateful for the experience you had with that person and the good times that you got to have; and then rejoice in the knowledge that your life is still completely yours and you have not wasted it shackled to somebody who did not want you.”
He concluded his best Father of the Year speech with a comparison between cows and bulls, with the former running away from trouble and the latter running towards it. Always be the bull, he said.

Naturally, half of TikTok instantly fell in love with Fallon’s father and his wise words of encouragement, with one even dubbing him the “ultimate green flag.”
One person said: “Crying. From all the girlies whose dad was their first heartbreak, you are so lucky to have a dad like him.”
“I’m legit SOBBING, your dad doesn’t even realize it, but I think he just helped heal a lot more little girls than just his,” another person said, while a third added, “I’d get ‘so be the bull’ tattooed on my body somewhere after that.”
