Situation is tense, but controlled: Frontline update as of June 1

The situation on some fronts as of June 1 is tense but under control by Ukrainian military forces. There have been 20 combat engagements since the beginning of the day on the front line, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian forces repelled one enemy attack near Lyptsi since the beginning of the day. The enemy lost 126 occupiers on this front yesterday.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russians attacked once in the Druzheliubivka area, suffered losses, and retreated. Enemy losses totaled 79 individuals on this front over the past day.

In the Siversk direction, five combat engagements are ongoing with no losses to our positions reported at this time.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled one attempt by the enemy to advance near Klishchiivka since the beginning of the day. Defense forces are holding the line and reinforcing positions on specific fronts.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders are taking measures to prevent enemy advancement. Two combat engagements are ongoing near Sokil and Nevelske.

In the Kurakhove direction, six battles are ongoing. The situation remains tense but under control of our defenders.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian aggressors attempted one unsuccessful attack near Robotyne. There have been no losses of positions reported.

Russia's advance in the Kharkiv region

For three weeks, the Russian army has been attempting to breach Ukrainian defense in northern Kharkiv region. Despite occupying several settlements, the enemy's advance has been successfully halted. Russians have entered the town of Vovchansk, where street battles continue.

According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders have changed tactics on the Kharkiv front. They are attempting to target Ukrainian positions with artillery and UAV strikes.
