West Ham make move to sign 'outrageously amazing' 24-year-old left-back for £25m - report

Ferdi Kadıoğlu is firmly on the West Ham United radar this summer according to a report coming out of Turkey.

New West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui seems intent on strengthening his squad at the London Stadium this summer.

We’ve already told you how the Hammers manager has around £90 million to spend this summer, before taking into account any potential player sales.

Lopetegui’s priorities in the summer transfer window are apparently to sign a top-class centre-back and a proven centre-forward.

In my opinion, the Spaniard should be going all out to improve the full-back positions as well, with more competition and cover required for Emerson Palmieri and Vladimir Coufal.

And first up this summer could be the addition of a new left-back, with Turkish star Ferdi Kadıoğlu an apparent target for Lopetegui…

West Ham make move to sign Ferdi Kadıoğlu

The Turkish defender has been in stunning form this season, and is drawing admiring glances from some of the biggest teams in world football.

The likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Napoli have all been credited with interest in signing him.

However, the Hammers have thrown their hat into the ring as well it seems.

According to a report from Fotospor, West Ham are lining up a summer bid for Fenerbahce left-back Ferdi Kadıoğlu.

The Hammers have allegedly made an enquiry for the 24-year-old, and have been told we need to pay £25 million to secure his services.

Whether the board are prepared to pay that kind of fee remains to be seen, but he possesses so much quality that £25 million could actually end up looking like a bargain.

So who is Ferdi Kadıoğlu and what could he offer us?

He bagged three goals and five assists in 51 games for Fenerbahce this season (Transfermarkt).

In 37 Super Lig outings, he averaged two tackles and 1.6 clearances per match. During those appearances, he made 53.9 passes per game on average and recorded a completion rate of 84.8% (Who Scored).

Kadıoğlu possesses unbelievable technical ability, and is incredibly press resistant.

Football scouting and analysis site Emir Scouting have labelled the 15-capped Turkey international as ‘outrageously amazing’.

Not only would he provide proper competition and cover for Emerson Palmieri, but he’d also offer us a completely different way of playing due to his ability to invert and exemplary technique.

West Ham signing Ferdi Kadıoğlu this summer would be a really exciting move in my opinion.
