'Really concrete': Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool are now really pushing to sign £30m attacker

Liverpool are getting their ducks in a row as they begin to enter the summer transfer market.

It’s a big window for the Reds as they look to set the Arne Slot era off on the right foot.

And with Slot now officially beginning his term as Liverpool head coach on Saturday, we may now start to see some movement in the market.

One area which the Reds are hoping to bolster their squad is said to be in the forward positions. That is exciting in itself.

With links to the likes of Mohammed Kudus doing the rounds, Liverpool supporters will be keen to see who FSG go for. After an update from journalist Fabrizio Romano on Saturday, we may now be closer to finding out who it could be.

Liverpool pushing to sign Crysencio Summerville

It’s slightly difficult to say what kind of forward Liverpool truly need to add this summer.

What we do know, however, is that the Liverpool owners will try to squeeze as much value as they can out of any signing.

With that in mind, it’s been claimed that one target – Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville – could be available for a ‘cut-price’ fee this summer.

After Leeds failed to win promotion from the Championship, journalist Ben Jacobs has reported that Summerville could be available for £30m.

Following on from that news, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano took to his YouTube channel to claim that Liverpool’s interest in the 22-year-old is now ‘really concrete.’

“Crysencio Summerville is expected to change clubs this summer, and there are two clubs monitoring Crysencio Summerville more than others,” says Romano.

“One is Liverpool and the other one is Chelsea. These two clubs are showing interest in Summerville. Let’s see what Chelsea and Liverpool will decide to do in terms of negotiation. We are not yet at that stage, but the interest in Summerville is really concrete with these two clubs involved.

“Let’s see if some other club will also move behind the scenes, but for sure, could be one to watch for the summer transfer window.”

Why do Liverpool want Cysencio Summerville?

After being linked with names such as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Summerville could be seen as an underwhelming target for Liverpool.

Nevertheless, he has had a very good season with Leeds. The Dutchman scored 21 goals in 49 games and ended the campaign as with the Championship Player of the Season award.

As well as the goals, Summerville laid on 10 assists for his teammates as Leeds came within a whisker of the Premier League.

Still young, the Netherlands U21 international now looks ready to make the step up.

Quite whether he’s able to take such a big leap, we’re not all that convinced. But if Michael Edwards and co think he’s a Liverpool player in waiting, then that’s good enough for us.

Chelsea’s presence is always a threat, though. So, this is far from being a done deal.
