Report: Tottenham now planning to start talks to sign 'unique' £60m star in next two weeks

Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to open talks for one transfer target during the next fortnight as they look to steal a march on their rivals in the race for his signature.

Spurs have already confirmed Timo Werner will remain in North London on loan next year, and it seems that they are looking to strengthen their attacking ranks further.

Ange Postecoglou’s men played some of the best football on show this past season, but they struggled to build on their outstanding start once injuries started to become a factor in their campaign.

So perhaps it is no surprise that they are gearing up to make a move for one of the most exciting players in the Premier League right now.

Tottenham to open talks to sign Eberechi Eze in next two weeks

According to a report from Football Transfers, Tottenham are preparing to step up their push to sign Eberechi Eze, and will look to open talks over a deal in the next two weeks.

Eze apparently believes that he has an agreement with the Eagles where he can leave Selhurst Park this summer should a club offer £60 million. Unsurprisingly, Oliver Glasner’s men have no interest in considering a lower figure for the England international.

Tottenham hope that they can put themselves on pole position by making an early move for the 25-year-old.

Eze is one of several EFL players who have gone on to thrive with Palace. He has been directly involved in 41 goals in 112 Premier League games, with 11 goals coming this past season.

Rio Ferdinand previously labelled him ‘unique’ and lauded his individual brilliance, and you could imagine that Tottenham fans would be incredibly excited about the prospect of him playing alongside the likes of James Maddison and Heung-min Son.

Spurs also offered £50m Barcelona star this summer

Eze is not the only attacking players on Spurs’ radar this summer, with TBR Football recently reporting that Tottenham are one of the sides offered the chance to sign Raphinha from Barcelona this summer.

Raphinha’s future is uncertain with Barca open to cashing in on the £50 million winger to bring in funds, and he is someone who knows the Premier League extremely well, having shone with Leeds during his two years at Elland Road.

Spurs would be the envy of most sides in the Premier League if they could sign both Eze and Raphinha this summer, and have them operating amongst the three playing behind the striker.
