Report: Liverpool now in talks to sign £25.5m-rated midfielder with 'world class' potential

Liverpool have started talks to sign a highly-rated midfielder this summer transfer window, according to a recent report.

Arne Slot has taken the reigns at Anfield following Jurgen Klopp’s emotional farewell and is now in the process of identifying targets to make his own imprint on the squad.

That said, it seems he’s already eyeing a move for a £25.5m-rated midfielder ahead of the fast-approaching window.

Liverpool in talks to sign Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram

According to TuttoJuve, Liverpool have opened talks to sign Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram this summer.

Thuram, who has ‘world class’ potential, is also attracting interest from other clubs in the Premier League but The Reds are ‘intent’ on landing his signature.

The 22-year-old’s contract expires next summer and as such, he is expected to depart for a discounted fee worth £25.5m.

Khephren Thuram statistics

It’s hardly surprising that Liverpool are so keen on signing Thuram when you take a look at his impressive FBref statistics.

The Frenchman ranks in the top seven and eight per cent for progressive carries and successful take-ons compared to his positional peers across Europe, evincing his terrific dribbling ability.

Further, he sits in the top 16 per cent for expected assisted goals, amplifying his playmaking skillset.

If Liverpool do land his signature this summer, they’d be getting a well-rounded number eight.
