But Phil Foden stood up and made himself counted in a way the true greats tend to.
The Englishman’s tally of 19 non-penalty goals in the league trumps Yaya Toure’s total in his unforgettable 2013/2014 campaign — where he scored six spot-kicks to take him to 20 goals.
Foden has married incredible productivity with sublime displays in what has been a union guaranteed to have eyes glued to screens worldwide.

Not just because of his goals and assists, Foden’s performance have seen him become the main man in Pep Guardiola’s side.
Even with Kevin De Bruyne in the team, Foden has been City’s star this season.

2023/24 was the season Foden became a truly world-class player.
The academy graduate was City’s game-changer on a regular basis, especially when the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland were out injured.
Quite simply, City would not have won a fourth Premier League league title had he not stepped in the way he did.
