Arsenal could sell Gabriel Jesus’ best friend at the club if ‘good offer’ arrives this summer - journalist

Arsenal would be willing to listen to ‘good’ offers for a player Mikel Arteta signed for the club back in 2022 if they arrive in the coming months.

It promises to be a summer of change at the Emirates, and the club’s interest in RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko seems to be a good indicator of their ambition.

Arsenal have reportedly just sent a £46m bid to the German club for Sesko, hoping that could be enough to secure Kai Havertz’s new understudy.

Moreover, the club are also said to be interested in signing a new midfielder to help extract even more out of Declan Rice too.

A new number six is a priority, and Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes and Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz are reportedly high on the shortlist.

Both could be difficult to recruit, though, and Barcelona are said to be joining Arsenal in their interest in Luiz.

Of course, in order to sanction this business Arsenal will need to sell players, to both raise funds and create space in their squad.

Arsenal would listen to ‘good offers’ for Oleksandr Zinchenko amid Bayern interest

Now almost on the periphery of things, it seems as if Oleksandr Zinchenko could be someone who potentially leaves the Emirates this summer.

At least, that’s what journalist Charles Watts believes, who shared his update on his recent podcast amid interest from Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich.

Watts briefly spoke about those links and then explained Arsenal’s position on Zinchenko this summer.

He said: “There are a lot of rumours or links doing the rounds about Zinchenko possibly heading to Bayern Munich, that’s been rumbling on for a while now.

“But the fact that Kompany has gone there and Kompany and Zinchenko have obviously got that relationship from Manchester City, has sort of brought them back into the headlines again.

“We’ll wait and see if that does end up materialising or not, I’ve said it before I do feel like Zinchenko is a player Arsenal would cash in on this summer if, and it’s a big if, a good offer arrives.

“I don’t think they’re going to be pushing him out of the door and really sort of offering him around to everyone to try and get him out.

“But I just think if an interesting proposal ends up on their table this summer they would certainly consider it.”

Gabriel Jesus’ best friend at Arsenal

Having arrived in the same window, Gabriel Jesus recently admitted that Zinchenko was his best friend at Arsenal.

And despite the success the duo have enjoyed the club, it doesn’t seem impossible that both could leave.

Jesus has also been linked with an Arsenal exit this summer, which perhaps explains why the club are interested in signing Sesko.

Both Jesus and Zinchenko were crucial in progressing Arteta’s team to a point where they could compete for the Premier League title, but may now have to often settle for a spot on the sidelines.

That’s unlikely to be a role that satisfies either given their ambition, demonstrating why this summer could be the opportune moment for a change.
