Brandon McCoy is On3’s No. 1 overall player in the 2026 rankings. The 6-foot-5 point guard is playing up in the 17U division of Nike’s EYBL Circuit for the 9-6 Arizona Unity program. McCoy is leading the way in scoring for his team at 15.3 points per game.

“I’m a hard worker and active everywhere,” McCoy told On3. “I’m a smart and fast player. My playmaking has definitely improved and taking care of the ball as a point guard.”

On3 was able to catch up with Five-Star Plus+ Brandon McCoy after a recent live viewing to talk recruitment.

“I’ve taken two unofficial visits so far, to UCLA and USC,” McCoy said. “Those are the only two visits I’ve been on so far.”

McCoy talks UCLA and USC

USC: “I took my visit while Coach (Andy) Enfield was still there, but the new staff has re-offered me. I had talked with Coach (Eric) Musselman a little while he was at Arkansas. I feel like I have a decent relationship with him, that is still growing. I’ll get on campus soon and learn more when I can take my official visit there.

“I really like the campus and the school part of it. They have a nice gym and a good mix of people. I can really see myself there.”

UCLA: “That campus is beautiful. Everyone told me that the campus was beautiful, but it’s really like that. It was sunny and the weather was good when I went. It was like a movie there, I can’t even lie. I consider myself a big guard, and I know that UCLA has done well with big guards. So with how they play, it looks like a style I could play in.”

Brandon McCoy in his words

Brandon McCoy claims more than 20 offers, with his most recent coming from the likes of SMU, Stanford, Auburn, LSU, and more.

“I want to play for a coach that I trust,” McCoy said. “Someone who wants to best for me. I’ll be putting my career on the line. So someone who I trust and wants to develop me to be the best version of me I can be. When I commit to a school, I’ll be committing to a place that knows what is best for me long term. So whether that is on the ball or off the ball, whatever it takes to get me to the next level is where I’ll trust.”
