Arsenal said no to Adarabioyo, instead eyeing move for 18-year-old Henry called ‘extraordinary’

Having rejected the chance to sign Chelsea-bound Tosin Adarabioyo, Arsenal are eyeing several younger targets this summer.

Arsenal have seemingly already made strides with their summer business, having sent a bid to RB Leipzig for 21-year-old striker Benjamin Sesko.

The move, if it comes to fruition, could tick off a key signing for Mikel Arteta, potentially with a lot of funds still in the bank to explore deals elsewhere.

A midfielder and a defender are also said to be priorities for the Arsenal manager, who is hoping to finally end the club’s run without a league title next season.

To do so, Arteta’s team will need to execute their business perfectly this summer, and then replicate that level of success across the league season once again.

A new number six is an obvious signing to bring to the Emirates Stadium, especially if Thomas Partey makes an Arsenal exit this summer.

But perhaps an understated signing, which could be no less important, would be recruiting adequate back up for William Saliba.

Arsenal rejected chance to sign Tosin Adarabioyo but are interested in Leny Yoro

Fortunately, according to a new report by CaughtOffside, Arsenal are monitoring a number of centre-backs right now.

Arsenal rejected the chance to pursue soon-to-be free agent Tosin Adarabioyo (26), who now seems as if he’ll join Chelsea after leaving Fulham.

The Gunners instead decided to pursue younger options, with the source listing several alternative options Arsenal have been exploring.

Benfica’s Antonio Silva (20), Lille’s Leny Yoro (18) and Sporting CP’s Ousmane Diomande (20) are all prominent on the list.

And alongside those options there’s also Ajax’s Jorrel Hato (18) – who is known to be admired by Arsenal’s recruitment team.

Thierry Henry blown away by Leny Yoro’s ability

Leny Yoro’s name is of particular interest amid that list, a young player who is considered one of Europe’s up and coming superstars.

At 18-years-old, Yoro has already played for Lille’s senior side 60 times – an indicator of his ability.

Moreover, the centre-back has also earned international recognition, playing with France’s youth sides.

And whilst away with France’s U21 side last November, Thierry Henry couldn’t help but lavish praise on Yoro’s displays in training.

Speaking via Le10Sport, Henry hailed Yoro alongside Paris Saint Germain’s young sensation Warren Zaire-Emery.

Praising Yoro, Henry said: “What he is doing is extraordinary. Another young player who is having good matches.

“Warren Zaire-Emery attracts a little more attention by being at PSG, playing in the Champions League, he has just joined the A. But, it’s true that Leny is doing a huge job at the moment.”

Certainly one to watch for Arsenal fans, and perhaps any interest could be revisited in the future, should it not be a priority this summer.

All that being said, it has now been explained how much Arsenal can actually spend on transfers this summer.
