Shanna Moakler has fans saying they’re “so here” for her latest interview. The former reality TV star appears on Jeff Lewis Live this May and talks all things Travis Barker-related. Shanna sat alongside singer and TV personality Carnie Wilson as she divulged what her relationship is like with her ex these days.
Many fans of The Kardashians will see Shanna’s ex continuing his reality TV stardom on the Hulu show. Travis Barker rose to fame as a drummer in rock band Blink-182. He and his family went on to appear in their own reality show, Meet the Barkers, almost 20 years ago. Now, he and his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, are living their best PDA-filled life alongside Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and co.
Shanna was married to Travis for years
In 2004, Travis and Shanna tied the knot. The two have two children together, and Travis also adopted Shanna’s daughter, Atiana De La Hoya.
After four years of marriage, the Miss New York USA pageant winner and the drummer got a divorce.
Since their split, the two co-parented their kids but their relationship hasn’t come without some drama.
Nowadays, the two have both moved on. Travis married Kourtney in May 2022. The famous couple welcomed their first child together, Rocky Barker, in November last year.
The dust appears to have settled when it comes to Travis and Shanna’s relationship these days. Speaking on Jeff Lewis Live, she put quite simply that their relationship exists as “co-parents” and nothing more.
Shanna is ‘happy’ for Travis
Explaining where she stands with her ex, Shanna told Jeff that she and Travis “don’t have a friendship.”
The two communicate about their “young adults” – the kids they share – and it’s usually via text message.
She said: “If it was something serious, we would absolutely get on the phone… The one thing we’ve always agreed on is our kids. And, you know, the best interest of our children.”
The mom of three added how she’s “happy” for Travis: “He’s in a good place… the kids love the new baby Rocky.”
She adds how her daughter is “obsessed” with Rocky and “sends her cute pictures of him.”
Sharing how amicable the two are these days, Shanna added how she congratulated Travis on the arrival of his new baby. She also told Jeff how Travis wished her a Happy Mother’s Day this year despite “not being very close.”
Shanna ‘gave up competing’
Of course, Jeff had to ask about where Shanna stands with Travis and his new wife, Kourtney, these days.
She replied: “I don’t know anything about their world.”
Jeff touched on the subject of “parental alienation” in the interview – something he says Shanna “accused Travis and Kourtney of earlier in the year.”
She responded: “When they first started dating, that was something I felt kind of affected my kids and I. But, I’ve dealt with that with Travis since my kids were born. That was something that was very prevalent in my relationship with him.”
Speaking of her ex, she added: “Yeah, I gave up that competition a long time ago.”
She agreed that she feels “criticized” and “scrutinized” for “doing things a little differently to Travis.”
She said: “My ex is a very powerful, famous person… You know, it’s kind of hard to compete on that level… but I gave up. I was never really trying to compete with that… I was like you win, you’re the winner.”
