Martin Tyler thinks Ten Hag signing is Man Utd’s ‘beacon of hope’ moving forward, he’s ‘pacey’ and ‘optimistic’

Manchester United definitely had a few standout players throughout the 23/24 season, which includes a fine array of young talent.

The likes of academy graduates Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho have dazzled Manchester United supporters with their meteoric rise to stardom.

Such is the ethos at Old Trafford, if you’re good enough, you’re old enough – and that has rung true this season more than most.

Another young star who has stepped up, but also received scrutiny throughout the campaign, Atalanta bought Rasmus Hojlund all things considered had a fabulous inaugural season with the Red Devils.

Martin Tyler lauds Rasmus Hojlund

When it comes to watching football matches, not many people can say they’ve seen more than legendary football commentator, Martin Tyler. Which is why his opinion is definitely of value.

Speaking on The Joy Of Football Podcast, Tyler spoke about Manchester United’s somewhat disappointing season, but more importantly how they’ll fare moving forward.

He singled out Hojlund as a player he thinks will be a vital asset to Manchester United’s first-team squad in the future.

“Manchester United, everybody’s been looking at their season critically, and understandably so, the numbers don’t add up for a club like Manchester United,” Tyler begins.

“But, Rasmus Hojlund I think is a beacon of hope for them. He found it hard to get some league goals, Premier League goals early on, but since actually Christmas time, he’s contributed a lot. They won their last two league games and scored in both those two.

“I like him. I think he’s pacey, and optimistic and they need some future thinking, and he’s done well in the present, but I think he’ll have a very good time because he’s wondering what the future will hold.

“Will Erik ten Hag stay? We’re all wondering about that. But the goalscorers. they live in their own world, and I think he’s in the right world.”

If Rasmus Hojlund is on an upward trajectory, United have smashed it

A lot of fans seem to forget at times, Hojlund is merely a 21-year-old, who had to transition to playing in the hardest league in the world. His stats for year one in red are actually remarkable for one of Ten Hag’s 16 signings.

16 goals is nothing to be ashamed about, particularly after he went through a purple patch where he simply could not find the back of the net.

We’re inclined to agree with Tyler. Along with some others, Hojlund is the future of Manchester United. We can’t wait to see how he progresses in years to come.
