Leeds should be making £15m player who they faced in the play-offs their top target to sign this summer - opinion

Leeds United should be making a £15m-rated player who they faced in the play-offs their top target to sign this summer transfer window.

Daniel Farke’s men will be desperate to right the wrongs of last season having missed out on an instant return to the Premier League.

Club chiefs will already be identifying targets to strengthen the squad as they look to secure a top-two finish.

One man should be at the summit of their transfer list.

Leeds United should try to sign Jonathan Rowe

It seems Crysencio Summerville will be departing Leeds this summer after a stellar campaign in the Championship, which saw him crowned Player of the Season.

If he is to leave, The Whites should be going all out to sign Norwich City’s Jonathan Rowe, who is valued at £15m.

Rowe enjoyed a productive breakout season, netting 13 times whilst laying on four assists despite being plagued by a hamstring injury during the latter stages.

The 21-year-old made his England under-21 debut last year and scored during a 9-1 win against Serbia.

He’d be a fantastic acquisition with room to get even better, as his statistics amplify.

Jonathan Rowe statistics

According to FBref, Rowe ranks in the top two per cent for non-penalty goals compared to his positional peers across Europe, evincing his terrific goal threat.

Further, he sits in the top 12 per cent for tackles which shows he’s equally as committed to his defensive duties.

Having faced Leeds in the play-offs, Farke will be well aware of his profile and could launch a bid if a Summerville sale is sanctioned.
