TV star savagely told to 'stick to her day job' as debut single makes fans 'cringe'

Danica Taylor surprised everyone when she arrived on Love Island two years ago and boldly chose to couple up with Luca Bish. Now, she’s caught fans off-guard once again by releasing a song. The reality star’s debut single hits the airwaves this June – but it’s gaining mixed reviews.

When Danica Taylor burst onto the Love Island scene, she was fresh out of university, single, and ready to mingle. The dancer was 21 years old and had some guts to couple up with Luca despite his then-romance with Gemma Owen. The ITV show is back for its eleventh series this June, and while Danica’s days in the villa are over, her fame is still going strong as she releases her debut single – Ugh.

Love Island’s Danica releases a song

Danica has been teasing the release of her music for some time, but this June she’s officially sharing the goods with her fans.

The former Love Islander shares a link to the official music video for her debut single, Ugh, on her Instagram page.

After displaying off her dancing skills on the ITV show, Danica proves she’s a woman of many talents as she shows off her vocal talents with her new music.

June 2 saw Ugh hit YouTube. The song is also available to stream on various platforms including Apple Music. She tells her Instagram followers that “Spotify is having some technical issues” upon the single’s release.

Fans savagely critique Danica’s music

By the looks of things, haters are going to hate when it comes to Danica’s career move.

But, as Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Kyle Richards once said, people are going to talk anyway, so you may as well give them something to talk about.

And it seems fans really are talking as they take to a Reddit thread over Danica’s new song.

Many people are dissecting the song lyrics, while more simply write: “…this isn’t it.”

Others tell Danica to “stick to influencing,” and more said the video is “full-on cringe.”

The ex Love Island star did rake in some compliments for her “dancing” and another wrote: “I thought it was fun… I liked the beat…”

Judging by Danica’s Instagram Stories, she isn’t too phased by people’s comments as she heads out for “date night” following the song’s release and “celebrates.”

She writes on her Stories: “Thanks to my incredible dancers, videographer and my close ones,” while sitting in a Lamborghini.
