Ayr United give the Celtic supporters a bonus for upcoming pre-season friendly

As well as transfer talk and the excitement of the transfer window, it’s easy to forget that Celtic have some pre-season fixtures that are creeping up fast.

Brendan Rodgers takes his team on a pre-season tour of the United States of America to face Chelsea and DC United in July.

The Celtic support also have a game against Queens Park organised for the 10th of July at Lesser Hampden as Rodgers looks to get the Bhoys’ fitness levels up for the US tour.

But just last week, Celtic announced that they were delighted to face Scott Brown’s Ayr United side for another pre-season fixture for Celtic at Somerset Park on the 5th of July.

And it seems that demand for the game by the Celtic support has outstripped its original supply after Ayr’s latest announcement on social media channel X.

Celtic fans continue incredible support for the team

No sooner had the fixture been announced, the Celtic supporters started snapping up tickets not only to see their current heroes but to also catch a glimpse of the legendary former captain.

And less than a week later, Ayr decided to open up the ground further to the Celtic fans after the initial allocation had sold out.

And the Celtic supporters had better be quick. At the time of writing this (1:21pm), I was placed 464th in the queue to get a ticket.

These fresh briefs, like the ones before them, are likely to be snapped up before the close of play today as the Celtic fans continue to show why they are the best supporters in the country.

Hopefully, by then, Brendan Rodgers will have added some fresh faces to the Celtic first team and the fans will get to see new players being blooded in time for the new fixtures starting for season 2024/25/
