Dog of the Week: The latest dogs looking for their forever homes from Newbury Dogs Trust

Dogs Trust Newbury has a number of dogs at its Hamstead Marshall base who need a new home.

Nationwide, the charity currently has 756 dogs that are looking for a family to join.

Gorby is looking for a forever home

You can find out more about adopting a dog by visiting the charity’s website.

This week we’ve got a double delight for you.

Let us introduce you to best friends Gorby and Pickles.

The charity is hoping to rehome these “partners in crime” together, in a home where their new owners can be around for them the majority of the time in the beginning.

Gorby is a seven-year-old pug cross West Highland White Terrier, who came to Dogs Trust with Pickles, a four-year-old Pug cross Jack Russell Terrier.

Could you adopt Gorby?

“She is an absolute clown, who likes the sound of her own voice,” Dogs Trust Newbury said.

“She would fit perfectly in with a busy family household as she loves to be involved in everything - if Pickles can come too.

“The pair cannot wait to find their new home.”

Pickles is looking for a loving home

Talking about Pickles, the adoption centre added: “The pair are inseparable. Pickles loves nothing more than to snuggle up in their big bed and then go for long walks where she can play with her ball or just sniff everything.

“She likes to meet other dogs on her walks, but the pair would not like to be a trio.

“She loves to cuddle and play tug.”

They both love travelling in the car and spending time with people.

Could you give Pickles her forever home?

Gorby will chase a ball if the mood takes her but if it goes too far, she’ll let Pickles do the heavy work.

They could live with children aged six or over, but their adopters will need to make sure that they are separate when they are eating, as Gorby tends to eat both hers and Pickles's food!
