The Sun's Jack Rosser shares devastating and truly infuriating West Ham transfer update

The latest West Ham United transfer update doing the rounds is far from ideal, that’s for sure.

West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui and director of football Tim Steidten are working tirelessly to get some deals over the line before our pre-season campaign begins on July 20th.

The Hammers are being linked with plenty of players right now, but the latest transfer update is really bad news for the West Ham fans.

Whilst numerous players are being mooted with moves to the London Stadium, we still have not made a signing as things stand.

The Sun’s Jack Rosser has now delivered a hammer blow to our hopes of getting a double deal over the line.

The good news is that Lopetegui clearly holds owners to account, when it comes to being backed in the transfer market.

He left Wolves due to broken promises, so I have full faith that he will keep pushing the West Ham owners.

There is still plenty of time remaining to get the required business done this summer.

However, the latest transfer news really is extremely concerning…

Devastating and truly infuriating West Ham transfer update

Lopetegui desperately needs to bolster his attacking ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

David Moyes allowed Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals to leave the club in January without replacing them and as a result, we’re now incredibly light in the left wing position.

Not only does Lopetegui need to bring in genuine quality, but he also must reduce the average age of his squad.

So with that in mind, it was hugely exciting when the Hammers were linked with a move to sign Palmeiras youngster Luis Guilherme.

The 18-year-old Brazilian is an incredible young talent, and the thought of him moving to the London Stadium set pulses racing amongst the Hammers fanbase.

However, Jack Rosser has now shared a really big blow for West Ham, and the update is not just about one Brazilian…

That’s that then it seems, at least for our hopes of signing Luis Guilherme and Fabricio Bruno.

At the end of the day, failure is not an option when it comes to player recruitment this summer.

Nothing less than six or seven top quality new arrivals will do, if the Hammers are to make some genuine progress under Lopetetegui.

The latest West Ham transfer update is obviously far from ideal, but I’m not panicking just yet.

As mentioned earlier, Lopetegui will not stand for any funny business from David Sullivan, and I fully expect the Spaniard to push the Hammers co-owner into making the signings we desperately need this summer.
