Peter Crouch says he would start 'special' Chelsea player for England at EURO 2024

Pundit Peter Crouch believes Chelsea representation is required in order for England to name their best starting 11 at the upcoming European Championships.

After a strong end to the season, a large amount of the first team players have now gone off to represent their nations at the upcoming tournaments.

Enzo Fernandez will be off to South America to feature for Argentina after he missed a few games at the end of the season in order to get fully fit.

He had been playing through injury for some time, and underwent surgery so he could come back closer to his best ability.

When looking ahead to England’s prospects at the upcoming Euros in Germany, there will be two Chelsea players pushing to participate.

Both Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher have been selected for the original squad, and feel likely to be included in the final 26 that travel to Germany.

While the likes of Levi Colwill, Reece James and Raheem Sterling all missed out, the midfield duo wil be pushing for a place deep in Gareth Southgate’s plans.

Crouch names Cole Palmer in starting England side

Crouch actually believes one of the two should be starting, with him naming Palmer in his strongest side to GiveMeSport.

What is perhaps the most interesting is the fact that the former England and Liverpool striker named the 22-year-old on the left of attack, a position he has not played too often since joining from Manchester City.

That role has been played more often by the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk and Sterling, with their top scorer featuring predominantly in a central role.

Palmer likely to play for England this week

His biggest rivals for a place in the starting side will be Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden, who both enjoyed sensational individual campaigns of their own.

The two friendlies England take part in this week will likely see Palmer given his chance to prove why he should be considered for a starting role this summer.
