Report: Manchester United have hatched transfer plan designed to keep Bruno Fernandes at the club

Manchester United have now created a transfer plan that they believe could keep Bruno Fernandes at the club this summer.

29-year-old Fernandes, who joined the club back in 2020, currently has a deal that extends to the summer of 2026, with the option for a further year.

And whilst most of a United persuasion have been more concerned about the future of their manager, Erik ten Hag, in recent weeks, the Fernandes saga is beginning to gather pace.

Fernandes has been an incredibly strong performer at Old Trafford over the years, and is thought to have become understandably concerned following another poor league season.

Of course, an FA Cup medal will have been well received, particularly against rivals Manchester City, but the victory is perhaps papering over the cracks to some degree.

But with Manchester United still believing that Fernandes can be convinced to stay and be central to the next cycle of their rebuild, Sports Lens have just shared the club’s new transfer plan to keep the Portuguese captain happy.

Man United plan to sign new players in three areas to keep Bruno Fernandes happy

According to the report mentioned, Fernandes is now the recipient of interest from Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich – a proposition that would tempt a fair few players.

However, according to the same information, there’s a belief at United that Fernandes’ desire is to remain with the club.

As a result, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s team have hatched a transfer plan intending to please their captain.

United plan to sign players across their defence, midfield and attack, with a particular focus on planning for the future – something that wasn’t necessarily the mantra when signing Casemiro from Real Madrid.

Perhaps that’s easy to say with hindsight, given the Brazilian started remarkably well, but the finances involved should have been deemed unsustainable from the off.

The club are probably now hoping for timely Saudi Arabian interest in players like Casemiro, funds that could then propel their new era.

Michael Olise and Jarrad Branthwaite would signal a new era at Old Trafford

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite still appears as such an obviously good signing – a player who would clearly demonstrate a change in strategy.

Moreover, given Everton’s need to sell players this summer, Manchester United fans may expect it’s a deal the club should be able to execute.

Similarly, United’s interest in Michael Olise seems very well-advised, an ambitious individual with a healthy amount of arrogance to his game.

Olise almost has a certain Eric Cantona type edge to his game, a real maverick for Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace right now.

Both signings are Premier League proven and are bound to signal ambition to Fernandes – which is a sub-plot of the summer ahead.

All that being said, TBR Football can now exclusively share that Cristiano Ronaldo is encouraging one of his former United teammates to join him at Al-Nassr this summer.
