Phoenix Mountain Pointe four-star safety Rylon Dillard-Allen committed to the Arizona State Sun Devils early in the process, but last month he decided to back off that pledge.
Over 20 schools have offered the No. 40 among safety in the On3 Industry Ranking and he has narrowed that list down to four schools.
Alabama, Texas A&M, Washington and UCLA are his top schools. He is fresh off an official visit to UCLA and the Bruins impressed.
“The highlight of my visit was sitting at the Rose Bowl looking over the city,” Dillard-Allen told On3. “Everyone was very genuine too and I really didn’t talk about football until my position meetings. I see myself being a post player and a nickel and UCLA is the only school that recruits me for nickel.
“Overall I like how they emphasize family and culture there.”
Next up is an official visit to Alabama. He will be in Tuscaloosa this weekend.
“Alabama speaks for itself. The old Washington staff is there and I love them.”
On June 14, Dillard-Allen will be in College Station, then his last official visit will be to Seattle on June 21.
“Coach Mike Elko is a defensive-minded coach and Texas A&M is a program with a lot of upside. The old staff at Arizona is now at Washington and I love those guys. Coach Steve Belichick as the defensive coordinator is a standout as well.”
After the official visits, Dillard-Allen is looking to take a few weeks to himself, compare the four schools, and make a decision late in July.
“I just want to be happy with my decision,” Dillard-Allen said in an interview last month. “My decision will come down to me doing what me and my family think is best for me.”
