A seven-year-old boy aspiring to one day be part of a lifeboat crew has raised thousands of pounds after completing a 40-mile long charity walk over four days last week.
Johnathon Jarvis started the walk from his home in Upwell last Thursday with his parents Kayleigh and Lee with an aim to raise funds for Hunstanton’s RNLI station.
While making overnight stops along the way, Johnathon was clapped and waved into Hunstanton by members of the public showing their support as they congratulated him on completing the huge trek.
The family faced challenging and rough weather along the way, but had many family members, friends and members of the public coming along on parts of the walk to show their support.
At the end, Johnathon, who wants to be part of the lifeboat crew when he grows up, was greeted by members of Hunstanton’s lifeboat crew.
The Beaupre Community Primary School pupil has raised a total of £2,408, with donations continuing to pour in from sponsors.
Johnathon’s mum Kayleigh said: “We were just so proud of his achievement.
“Johnathon was a bit overwhelmed by the massive welcome he received but soon got into the swing of it, talking to everyone, shaking hands and getting to sit in his beloved hovercraft.
“The support we have received has been amazing and we have enjoyed the journey so much.”
