Exclusive: Brighton look into move to sign 'special' £30m Arsenal player who is keen to leave this summer

  • EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey

TBR Football understands that a number of Premier League clubs are looking closely at Emile Smith Rowe – with the England man ready to leave this summer.

TBR sources confirm that Smith Rowe has been informed by Arsenal that the club will not stand in his way and the player himself is understood to feel that he needs to move on from the Emirates this summer.

The 23-year-old has seen his chances become increasingly limited and he started just three league games last term.

TBR can now reveal that Smith Rowe’s representatives are touching base with a host of Premier League clubs.

Brighton look into Emile Smith Rowe move

It is understood that Brentford, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Wolves are amongst the clubs who are looking into a potential deal.

Smith Rowe is contracted to Arsenal until 2026 and we understand The Gunners want more than £30million. Cashing in on Smith Rowe would be a huge positive for Arsenal in terms of Profit and Sustainability, given he is a homegrown player.

Indeed Arsenal are ready to see some substantial profits from homegrown sales with Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah also being offered for sale.

Arsenal star once backed to become one of the Premier League’s best

This summer could prove to be a defining one in the career of Smith Rowe given he has struggled for game-time over the last two years with Arsenal.

He was previously one of the real positives about Mikel Arteta’s side, scoring 10 league goals in the 2021/22 season. But he has only made three league starts in the two years since.

He will hope that his next move proves to be a turning point, with Willian previously suggesting that Smith Rowe has the ability to become one of the best players in the Premier League. He has also been described as a ‘special‘ talent.

Right now, he looks a long way off being that player due to his lack of game-time, but the amount of Premier League interest in him shows how highly he continues to be thought of by many.
