Millionaire’s advice to youngsters looking to date
Grant says 20-year-olds should not be thinking about dating, late alone marriage, as they have “nothing to offer” to their partners. Hence, he started a family at 50, when he was successful and accomplished in life.
He is tired of seeing youngsters chase one another for love when they should be using the weekends and any spare time to earn money and focus on bigger dreams.
To the millionaire, falling in love before defining your career goals is a big no-no; so is indulging in habits such as drinking, smoking, and substances that often lure youngsters.
Calling dating a “waste of time”, Grant says one wouldn’t know “how to make people happy” in a relationship at a tender age. “Focus on getting strong, successful, and exceptional.”
He believes it’s important to prioritize yourself between 20 and 30 years of life. He guarantees that at 31 “you won’t be a gangster.”
Why he became a father at 50
Grant is married to his wife Elena Lyons and the couple has two daughters – Sabrina and Scarlett. He’s 66 years old and had his first child at the age of 50.
He says his decision to start a family at the said age “attributes to him being a better father. He was able to strike a fine balance between fun, accountability, availability, and responsibility.
He advises fellow men to “leave women alone early on” because they wouldn’t have anything to offer – a debatable opinion nonetheless.
The millionaire tells youngsters to instead take up multiple jobs at a young age and invest their money in mediums that guarantee returns, such as real estate. However, you should never touch the principal amount if you wish to become rich by you’re 30, he says.
When asked when should young men and women start looking for relationships, he responded: “You should be so busy looking for accomplishment and confidence. Confidence comes through accomplishment.”
