Russian Federation intensifies activity in Pokrovsk direction - General Staff

Russia has intensified its actions in the Pokrovsk direction. Fighting is ongoing there, and the enemy is attacking with the support of aviation, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, as of 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, the total number of combat engagements since the beginning of the day has increased to 64.

Russian troops continue to shell the border of Sumy and Chernihiv regions from their territory. They struck Khrinivka, Stara Huta, Khliborob, and Mykhalchyna Sloboda.

In addition, the Kharkiv region is under Russian attacks. The Russian military conducted three air strikes on Vovchansk using seven guided bombs, while Oskil and Veterynarne were attacked by MI-8 helicopters using 10 unguided missiles per settlement.

In total, there have been three combat engagements in this area since the beginning of the day without success for the enemy.

The enemy is not slowing down in the Pokrovsk direction. Since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian Defense Forces units have repelled 16 assaults there. Currently, 17 more battles are ongoing. The enemy is attacking with the support of aviation. Arkhanhelske was attacked by three guided bombs, Novoselivka Persha was attacked by 10 unguided aerial missiles.

Situation at the frontlines

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces have become more active and are using aircraft. Ukrainian defenders repelled eight enemy assaults. Three engagements are still ongoing near Stelmakhivka and Berestove. The defense forces are repelling the enemy.

In the Kramatorsk direction, a battle is ongoing in the area of Andriivka. At the same time, Sloviansk came under an enemy missile attack. Druzhba (the enemy used 16 unguided missiles) and Pivnichne (10 unguided missiles) were also hit by Russian aviation strikes.

The total number of attacks in the Kurakhove direction increased to four. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled two assault actions of the Russian troops. Two more are ongoing near Krasnohorivka and Paraskoviivka. The enemy struck Vodiane with two guided bombs and 20 unguided missiles.

In the Vremivka direction, the enemy continues to attack with the support of aviation. At present, three enemy attacks have been successfully repelled there, and two more are ongoing in the vicinity of Urozhaine.

The situation in the rest of the directions remains unchanged.

Russia's offensive

According to ISW, the enemy continues its offensive in the Kharkiv region. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are repelling Russian attacks and in some places regaining positions.

As of the morning of June 4, the Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated another 1,290 Russian soldiers. As of today, total enemy losses in manpower amount to 512,420 soldiers.
