‘Fantastic’ defender is ‘excited’ to join Chelsea and work with Enzo Maresca – journalist

One player is reportedly excited about the prospect of joining Chelsea and linking up with their new manager.

Yesterday saw Enzo Maresca announced as the new head coach at Stamford Bridge, with him being selected to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

Despite the fact the Italian is on holiday, and not due to start work with the club until July, it has been claimed that he isalready hard at work analysing some fixtures from last season.

Attention is quickly turning to who the club will bring in as players this summer, and it has been claimed that they are close to finalising their first addition of the window.

Tosin Adarabioyo is set to be a free agent when his contract with Fulham expires, and it has been reported that he has chosen Chelsea as his next destination.

It has also been claimed that Maresca has given the green light to the addition, and Simon Phillips claimed on his Substack that the player is keen to work under the Italian this season.

He said: “Pending new signing Tosin Adarabioyo also has some, albeit very small, experience of Maresca, and sources have said he is also excited to work with him and has only heard top things about Maresca from within the Manchester City circles.”

Other players who have experience of Maresca from his time at Manchester City are Romeo Lavia and Cole Palmer.

The latter has reportedly been speaking to his Chelsea teammates already about their new boss, and talking up their prospects with him in charge.

Even though Adarabioyo is joining on a free transfer, the fact that players are still keen on joining the club with an inexperienced manager in charge suggests that the Blues will not lose any of their pull in the market in their new era.

With a striker and winger reportedly also high on the list of priorities for this summer, expect a busy window again in West London.
