Latest Bruno Fernandes update should see Ineos make easiest decision of the summer for Man Utd - Opinion

Manchester United have a decision to make over Bruno Fernandes and as things stand, it’s the easiest decision they could possibly have.

Ever since the season ended, there has been some uncertainty around the future of Bruno Fernandes, as interest heats up in taking the club captain away from Old Trafford this summer.

Bayern Munich have been reported to be interested in signing the Portuguese international. More recent reports have linked Bruno with a £120m move to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

The player himself also hinted that an exit wasn’t impossible as he told DAZN: “A player always has to want to be here, but at the same time, you have to want him to stay. At the moment, I feel there’s that on both sides”.

Losing Bruno would be catastrophic for Manchester United, however, as during the last season his 15 goals and 13 assists saved United from ending up in a situation far worse than what we inevitably got.

But now the latest reports have suggested that Ineos have one simple decision to make this summer and it’s the easiest they’ll have all year.

What Bruno Fernandes now wants at Manchester United

Fears over Bruno potentially exiting Manchester United can be eased thanks to the latest report from The Guardian which suggests he could stay after all.

According to the report from Jamie Jackson, Bruno is actually pushing for a new contract at Old Trafford.

He believes he deserves to be among the highest-paid players at the club. However, he is expected to wait until there is clarity over the future of Erik ten Hag and the club’s long-term vision and plan for the coming years before making a final decision.

The door is still open for him to search for a big transfer exit it seems, however, if Ineos do their jobs right, there will be no danger of losing him.

HITC has also reported along similar lines, adding that Bruno has been a hot topic within United’s end-of-season review.

During a meeting with Jason Wilcox and Sir Dave Brailsford, Fernandes made it known he’d sign a new contract, but only if United were going to meet his ambitions.

If there is a decision to be made, Ineos have a simple call to make.

Ineos have the easiest decision possible to make this summer at Old Trafford

Few Manchester United fans would choose to see Bruno walk out the door this summer and given his excellent qualities, the club won’t want that either.

So if Bruno is asking to be made a top earner there’s little debate over whether he should get it or not.

Bruno isn’t asking for much, currently on £240k-a-week, he absolutely deserves to be the club’s highest-paid player, with Casemiro, Marcus Rashford, Mason Mount and Jadon Sancho the four currently above him.

The Portuguese Magnifico absolutely deserves to be on more than these four and so Ineos have an easy decision to make.
