At the Summit scheduled for June 13-14, leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) countries will discuss support for Ukraine. One of the topics will be the issue of Russian assets, states White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

Jean-Pierre noted that the meeting of G7 leaders, which will take place in Apulia, Italy, will be attended by US President Joe Biden.

According to her, the leaders will discuss a range of global issues, including assistance to Ukraine.

"Leaders will advance efforts to make use of Russia’s immobilized sovereign assets to help Ukraine as well as actions to continue imposing costs on Russia and those who support Russia’s war effort," added the White House press secretary.

Heads of state will also discuss economic security, food security, healthcare funding, and adopt new commitments to support developing countries.

Participation of Zelenskyy in the G7 Summit

A few days ago, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would participate in the G7 summit in Italy.

However, the head of the Italian government did not specify in what format the Ukrainian president would participate.

Later, the information about Zelenskyy's participation in the Summit was confirmed by the spokesperson for the President of Ukraine, Serhii Nykyforov.
