Wolves favourites to sign transfer target Ramon Sosa

Wolves have been linked to Ramon Sosa this summer, with the Talleres winger set to be on the move from Argentina.

This week, journalist German Garcia Grova reported that the Old Gold have a ‘good chance’ of securing a deal for the 24-year-old due to him changing agents.

The Paraguay international is now thought to be represented by Jorge Mendes, as per reports from Versus.

Talleres want a fee of €20m (£17m) to part ways with the dynamic forward, who could be on the move to Molineux this summer.

Sosa could be the next Jorge Mendes masterclass at Wolves

If there’s one person that Wolves want to be linked to in the transfer window, it’s Jorge Mendes, who has orchestrated countless star moves over the years.

The agent’s strong relationship with the Midlands club has seen many big names arrive at Molineux, including the likes of Diogo Jota, Joao Moutinho, Matheus Nunes and of course, Ruben Neves.

Added to those departed are the current representatives of Mendes in O’Neil’s first team, with Toti Gomes, Pedro Neto, Jose Sa and Nelson Semedo all having ties.

Now, Mendes’ latest recruit could follow the path to Molineux, with Sosa being a well-thought-of talent in Argentina, and one who could offer a lot to O’Neil.

Analyst Ben Mattinson once described the 24-year-old as a ‘smart decision maker’ and a player who is a constant ‘problem’ for defenders.

The winger can be deployed on either flank, with his numbers telling the tale of his directness in the final third.

ESPN journalist Roberto Rojas exclusively told Molineux News of the similarities between Sosa and Neto, which could be interesting given the doubts over the Portugal international’s future.

As per FBref, the Talleres winger was consistently on hand to cause problems in the Copa de la Liga Profesional in 2024, averaging a monstrous 3.27 successful take-ons per 90.

Added to that, Sosa recorded a stellar average of 1.06 goal-creating actions per 90, reinforcing his ability to make a difference going forward.

O’Neil could be on course to capture a top talent from Mendes this summer, with all signs currently pointing at a possible Molineux arrival for Sosa.
