£100m striker hints at definitive transfer stance that will all but end Arsenal interest

A rumoured Arsenal transfer target has all-but ended the north London side’s hopes of pulling off an incredible £100m swoop this summer.

The Gunners head into the market with a clear idea of what they’re looking to bring in, with a central midfielder and striker the two positions Arsenal are looking to recruit in as well as a left-back.

Benjamin Sesko has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal this week, and early signs are promising that Mikel Arteta could get a good amount of business done early on in the summer transfer window.

Yet one player has ruled out a move this summer in what could be a blow for Arsenal.

Alexander Isak rules out Newcastle exit after Arsenal rumours

Speaking to Fotboll Skanalen, Alexander Isak delivered a definitive transfer stance surrounding his future that all but ends Arsenal’s hopes of signing the Newcastle United striker this summer.

The £100m-rated attacker has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, yet the chances of Isak actually moving to north London always looked slim.

And now, the Newcastle star has ruled out that he will be leaving the club this summer, with Isak saying when asked about his future: “I’m really, really happy at Newcastle. I had the best season of my career.

“You can’t underestimate that. I love everything about the club, the fans, the city. I have no thoughts about moving or anything like that. I’m having a great time and I’m very happy with my life here.”

Arsenal can now fully focus on other targets after Isak bombshell

Isak was always going to be an ambitious signing for Arsenal with the 24-year-old attacker clearly loving life at Newcastle even with the Magpies failing to qualify for Europe this season.

And with the attacker now stating in public he does not want to move this summer, Arsenal can fully focus on other targets with the window set to open next week.

Indeed, Arsenal know that signing a striker is key this summer, and Isak ruling himself out will make the north London side’s job easier when it comes to finding the perfect recruit.
