West Ham have now submitted a bid to sign another Brazilian player – after talks over a deal for Luis Guilherme reached an advanced stage.
The reliable Fabrizio Romano has claimed that it is only a matter of time until Tim Steidten seals a €30m (£26m) deal to bring the Palmeiras No.31 to the London Stadium – with a medical potentially taking place next week.
Now – according to sources in Brazil – West Ham have made a move to sign another South American after making progress with Luis Guilherme…
West Ham bid for Rwan Seco
A story from UOL now claims that West Ham have made a bid to sign Ludogorets No.99 Rwan Seco.
The South American news outlet state that the Hammers have offered €9m (£8m) for the 23-year-old after he enjoyed a fantastic 2023/24 campaign.
Seco scored 19 goals in 50 appearances for the Bulgarian outfit – while also providing seven assists – with two of those strikes coming in the UEFA Conference League, a competition West Ham fans know very well having gone all the way in 2023.

UOL add that West Ham are yet to hear back from Ludogorets after submitting the offer, and are currently awaiting a response.
Tim Steidten taking a gamble, but it could pay off
In our view, signing Seco represents a bit of a gamble, in the sense that he is still only 23 years of age, is playing in Bulgaria, and was recently working on a building site until his football career started to take off.
With all due respect, the Bulgarian top-flight is not comparable to the Premier League in terms of difficulty.

Having said that, if Ludogorets accept the £8m bid, it wouldn’t be a lot of money for West Ham to potentially waste, and the upside of having a prolific Brazilian striker in the Premier League would be huge.
Seco could even take his value up to £50m with one good season, especially given his age.
Whatever West Ham do in the market this summer, it is promising to see that a bid has been made for a striker, after Michail Antonio and Danny Ings scored just eight goals between them in the 2023/24 campaign.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as West Ham await a response from Ludogorets.
