'Early next week': Fabrizio Romano now shares exciting rumour for West Ham fans

Fabrizio Romano has now shared an exciting update for West Ham fans.

The Hammers are already close to sealing one deal with a free transfer swoop for Wes Foderingham nearing completion – as Julen Lopetegui targets an experienced third choice glovesman.

Now, another signing seems close for West Ham

When West Ham could announce Luis Guilherme

West Ham are making excellent progress in a deal to sign Palmeiras No.31 Luis Guilherme.

The Hammers entered talks with the Brazilian giants over a move for the 18-year-old just a matter of days ago, as Tim Steidten attempted to wrap up a couple of deals in South America.

A move to sign Fabricio Bruno from Flamengo seemed all but done, although the defender has failed to agree personal terms with the east Londoners.

Now, however – according to Romano – West Ham are close to signing Guilherme, with an announcement potentially arriving as early as next week.

The reliable Italian journalist wrote: “Understand West Ham are now preparing all documents for Luis Guilherme deal.

€30m (£26m) plus 20% sell-on clause proposal exclusively revealed, now being reviewed with Palmeiras. West Ham hope for deal to be sealed early next week with 2006 born winger to travel for medical.”

If West Ham do manage to complete this signing, Lopetegui will have a real livewire on his hands – Guilherme has been clocked running faster than both Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez.

Brazilian could replace fan favourite

Despite the fact Guilherme is just 18 years of age, West Ham are spending £26m on his signature – which is quite the commitment.

You could – therefore – argue that an investment of that magnitude would be arriving as a starter, which poses question marks over the future of Jarrod Bowen, based on rumours coming out of Newcastle, as well as the fact Guilherme also likes to cut inside from the right flank on his stronger left foot.

A story from the Telegraph recently claimed that Newcastle have made the West Ham No.20 a primary target this summer, as Eddie Howe aims to beef up his frontline.

Therefore, it is entirely possible that West Ham go into the 2024/25 campaign with Guilherme on the right flank instead of Bowen.
