Sudbury Snooker Club in North Street could be transformed into four flats

A snooker hall which served a Suffolk town for nearly 40 years could be transformed into four flats.

An application to approve plans to change Sudbury Snooker Club in North Street into four town centre homes has been submitted to Mid Suffolk District Council.

The first floor snooker club and function room opened in 1985 and offers pay-to-play options for visitors as well as membership opportunities for those who play regularly.

The site has a snooker room, communal room, seating area, bar and toilets – however, applicant D&A Property Developers Limited is hoping to transform the space into four three-bedroom and two-bedroom flats with parking.

Plans were previously approved in February to make changes to the building’s windows and to add windows to the roof.

The ground floor units, Hot Wok, The Tile Gallery and The Laundry Goddess, would remain unaffected by these plans with the existing access to the first floor remaining in place.

Consultation by Mid Suffolk is due to take place on Tuesday, June 25.
