David Ornstein now shares whether Jack Grealish has made England's squad for Euro 2024

Journalist David Ornstein has revealed whether Jack Grealish has made the cut in Gareth Southgate’s 26-man England squad for Euro 2024.

Jason Cundy had claimed that the Manchester City attacker had simply not played at the standard to merit a spot on the plane to Germany. However, Jermaine Pennant felt Jack Grealish’s bright display against Bosnia was an indicator of why he should be a part of the Three Lions’ squad.

David Ornstein confirms if Jack Grealish makes Euro 2024 England squad

After his sparkling cameo against Bosnia, Gareth Southgate was full of praise for the three-time Premier League winner’s performance and character.

It seemed like City’s number 10 had put in an encouraging display at the perfect time to convince Southgate to pick him in his squad.

The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has revealed on X that Jack Grealish has been left out of the final 26-man England squad set to head to Euro 2024.

Harry Maguire, who has suffered a calf injury is also set to miss out.

Other players who have been excluded include Curtis Jones, James Maddison and James Trafford while Jarred Quansah is also expected to miss out, as per The Athletic’s report.

Grealish should have been taken to the Euros by Southgate

In our view, England boss Gareth Southgate should have opted for Jack Grealish as a part of his Euro 2024 squad.

Considering Anthony Gordon seems to be guaranteed to travel to Germany, the former Aston Villa attacker is the exact different kind of profile who would benefit the English in Germany. Grealish’s ability to retain possession and draw the opposition press would have been a difficult challenge for opposition defences, as he would allow spaces to open up for his teammates to exploit.

In addition, Jack Grealish has previously showcased how much of a threat he can be from central areas — a tactical option Gareth Southgate could have explored.

But it seems like an underwhelming season from the treble-winner helped Southgate make up his mind.
