'It will happen': Romelu Lukaku names the club he will definitely play for after Chelsea

One Chelsea player is eyeing a return to one of his former clubs in the near future.

It may not happen in the upcoming transfer window, but Chelsea are still set for a busy summer.

They are already close to making their first signing. It was reported earlier this week that Tosin Adarabioyo has had his medical ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge.

Departures are also expected, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Ian Maatsen unlikely to have futures at the club after being loaned out this season.

The former has been speaking about his plans for the future.

Romelu Lukaku on his career plans

Lukaku has quite the CV, having played for some of the biggest clubs in the world.

The 31-year-old has had two spells at Chelsea now, as well as two at Inter Milan. He also had a stint at Manchester United and spent this season at AS Roma.

However, where it all started for him is where he plans to return to one day.

On going back to Anderlecht, Lukaku told RTL info: “Of course it will happen. I think much sooner than people think. I left Belgium at 18, I miss my mother and my children. Anderlecht is where it all began for me, the club of my heart.

“I have been a supporter of Anderlecht since I was little. I had gone to see a match against Dender, Tom De Sutter had scored a double, I was looking at the supporters around me I had just come up as a reserve, and when I got home, I told my parents that. in a few months it was me.”

Where will Romelu Lukaku end up this summer?

That is anyone’s guess. Right now, it is hard to tell where Lukaku is going to go.

That is largely because clubs only want to take the striker on loan but Chelsea want to sell him permanently.

For example, it has been reported that AC Milan have already had a loan enquiry for Lukaku rejected by the Blues.

It is quite an annoying situation for Chelsea. Lukaku is the third-most expensive signing in the club’s history, but they cannot even offload him and make some money back.
