Arsenal make Amadou Onana transfer contact

The summer transfer window is just one week away from officially opening and for Arsenal, it represents a chance to make more changes to the squad.

Mikel Arteta took the Gunners close to Premier League title glory but narrowly missed out to Manchester City on the final day of last season.

There’s little time to rest though as improvements are required to usurp Pep Guardiola, with the transfer market offering a chance to do just that.

A midfield addition could be on the cards this summer, as Arsenal have made an enquiry for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who told GiveMeSport: “[It is] not something really concrete at this point.

“They [Arsenal] had some contact, yes, in terms of being informed on the players’ situation, but it’s not the proper negotiation to the club yet.

“I think Arsenal has several names in that list for the midfield. Onana is appreciated by many, many clubs in England.”

Xavi Simons to Arsenal transfer stance

Arsenal continue to be linked with a move for PSG playmaker Xavi Simons in the summer transfer window as an option to bolster the forward lines.

The 21-year-old scored eight goals and laid on 11 assists to his teammates on loan at RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga last season, helping them gain Champions League qualification.

With the youngster showing so much promise, there are plenty of rumours swirling over his future in the French capital.

While a move to the Emirates Stadium hasn’t been ruled out, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that a decision will be made on his future after the European Championships this summer.

“The player will decide what he wants to do after the Euros, it will take time,” Romano in his Daily Briefing.

“Bayern [Munich] want him it’s true, RB Leipzig too, and there are Premier League clubs also interested.

“Xavi Simons is open to going on loan, it’s something really concrete and I expect that to happen.

“It’s important to note that PSG have no plans to sell him on a permanent deal.”

Arsenal in race to sign Turkish wonderkid

Arsenal are in the market for a striker as they look to add an option that will help score goals on a consistent basis.

While there have been plenty of links to options that will improve the side for next season, there have also been reports showing interest in young stars who will grow into the next big name.

The latest name to be linked with the Gunners in the wonderkid category is Semi Kilicsoy from Besiktas.

According to agent Murat Teber, Arsenal are in the race to sign the youngster as he told Radyospor, via Sporx: “I know that clubs such as Bayern, [Manchester] City, Arsenal, PSG, Monaco, [Bayer] Leverkusen and Stuttgart are watching Semih.

“We received information about this, but it has not reached the offer stage, at least, there is no offer that has reached us.

“Semih is a different player at his young age. Therefore, Semih is followed in the five biggest leagues of Europe.

“Of course, Besiktas’s situation is also important here. There are multiple factors. Currently, Semih is only concentrating on the national team. We will look at the situation after the Euros.”

Kilicsoy scored 11 goals in the league last season, as well as four assists in 23 appearances.
