Kit Kat and Heinz just teased the craziest collaboration, and we don't know how to feel

Kit Kat just teased the most bizarre collaboration with Heinz that certainly wasn’t on anyone’s 2024 bingo card.

The snack brand shared a picture of a ketchup-flavored chocolate bar, and we don’t know how to feel about it.

Kit Kat teases Heinz collaboration

It all stems from a viral trend taking over TikTok right now that sees people dipping Kit Kat bars in ketchup.

Apparently it’s actually nice – and the two brands clearly snapped up the opportunity for a clever marketing ploy.

Kit Kat and Heinz shared a photo on Instagram this week of a strange chocolate bar in “KitKat’Chup” flavor.

“Have a break, have a Heinz,” it says underneath, and the packaging combines the Heinz and Kit Kat logos.

The Kit Kat isn’t actually being made, but the brand asked in the caption: “Even when it’s Kit Kat, It Has to be Heinz. Do we dare?”

Could we see a ketchup-flavored Kit Kat arrive on shelves in the future? We’ll have to wait and see.

Bizarre flavor divides the internet

In the comments, people are completely divided by the strange flavor combination.

Some think it’s ludicrous, with one person writing: “Please tell me this is a late April Fools day post.”

“There’s still time to delete this,” said another.

A third person added: “What did yall drink before posting this????”

However, someone else said it’s a great “combination of sweet and savory”.

“Break me off a piece of that KitKat’Chup bar,” another commented.

One more said: “The collab that we needed.”

Speaking of ketchup, Americans are just learning they’ve been squirting the sauce wrong for their entire lives.

Dipping Kit Kats in tomato ketchup

The bizarre trend emerged on TikTok this month, where people are squeezing tomato sauce onto their chocolate bars – and enjoying it!

In one video, a man said he was “sceptical” of the flavor combination, but was pleasantly surprised by the taste.

“It kind of reminds me of a chocolate covered strawberry or a chocolate covered cherry, but it’s way more salty,” he said.

Someone else said the weird sensation “tastes kinda good,” adding that there are definitely worse combinations out there.

Another person even called the mixture “delicious” – so maybe a Heinz and Kit Kat collaboration wouldn’t be so bad after all.

Would you try it?
